The friction welding is a simple joining process, which is used for over 30 years in the most different manufactoring. It concerns a pressure welding, whatever is used for full-mechanized connecting of parts and is suitable very well for automatisation.
Due to the welding temperatures below the fusing temperature, and to the short welding time and adding under strenght friction welding offers the possibility of connecting also materials and material combinations with high quality which cannot be added with fusion welding procedures or only with substantial restrictions.
Operational areas result due to the possibility various materials to interconnect: Casting and sinter materials, ceramics with metals, alloys or intermetallic phases exhibit a large potential.
